He urged them to hold special prayers in Hindu centers, yoga studios and home shrines.

Bulgaria began three-days of special prayers by various religions/denominations at the initiative of Bulgarian President Rosen A. Plevneliev.  About 200 people reportedly committed suicide this year in Bulgaria.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, stressed that Hindus believed in "Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu" and would be happy to contribute to the prosperity, well-being and happiness of Bulgaria. He himself would also pray for Bulgaria, Zed added.

Rajan Zed further said that Bulgaria should show strong political and take positive steps to end prevailing corruption and poverty in the country. Zed noted that Bulgaria should also put an end to Roma (Gypsy) maltreatment and provide equal opportunity and access to Roma like all Bulgarian citizens, which was reportedly drastically lacking at present. Racial discrimination should have no place in 21st century Bulgaria and Europe, Zed added.

Bulgaria is known for its long sandy Black Sea Coast, multicolored monasteries, footballer Hristo Stoichkov, poet Peyo Yavorov, etc. Marin Raykov is Prime Minister of Bulgaria, which boasts of nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
