Northampton Borough Council in England has reportedly handed over the management of Weston Favell Parish Hall to Indian Hindu Welfare Organization (IHWO).

IHWO, a registered charity established in 1996, focuses "on enriching the lives of Northampton's Hindus by meeting their social, cultural, welfare and health needs". It organizes classes on yoga, Indian classical dances, and Gujarati and Hindi languages; besides youth programs (workshops, sports, camps, etc.), festivals, bhajans, Diwali Lights Celebration, cultural events, etc.  Its stated activities include to "promote the elimination of racial discrimination". Neelam Aggarwal and Atul Karavadra are Chairperson and Treasurer respectively.

Meanwhile, distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, congratulating IHWO in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that it was important to pass on Hindu spirituality, concepts and traditions to coming generations amidst so many distractions in the consumerist society and hoped that it would focus in this direction. Zed stressed that instead of running after materialism, we should focus on inner search and realization of Self.
